Ohio has still not mandated teaching of climate change at any level k-12. Beyond this, they are actively moving backwards by implementing legislation such as Senate Bill 83 which would limit what could be discussed on higher education campuses. Ohio has made little to no progress in terms of climate change education and must alter their ways to prepare their youth
Senate Bill 83 which passed in state senate in May 2023, and now moves onto the House to officially be passed would define climate change as a “controversial topic” thus limiting its teaching in higher institutions in the state
