EARTHDAY.ORG Launches the First-Of-Its-Kind State of Climate Interactive Map

Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2024)- EARTHDAY.ORG, the driving force behind the global celebration of Earth Day and the leading advocacy group championing the importance of teaching climate education to students worldwide, launched the first-of-its-kind State of Climate Interactive Map.

The State of Climate Interactive Map is a comprehensive overview for students, educators, parents, and the media, detailing where and how climate change is being taught. It also covers policy and legislation, climate issues, educational resources, and contact information for individuals to take action on a state by state basis. This innovative tool represents a significant milestone in climate education advocacy, as it provides easily accessible information tailored to each state’s unique needs and challenges.

“As someone who transitioned from teaching to advocating for climate literacy, I take pride in the progressive nature of the map we’ve developed,” said Emily Walker, EARTHDAY.ORG’s Education Coordinator. “Our first-of-its-kind map provides easily accessible information on climate education, empowering individuals and paving the way for informed advocacy and action, ensuring every student receives the vital knowledge to effectively address the climate crisis.”

Launching today with California, our Climate Education Team will reveal a new state every day on our @earthdayeducators Instagram page through Earth Day on April 22, 2024.

EARTHDAY.ORG champions the global push for universal, equitable climate education, advocating for comprehensive learning and civic engagement for all students worldwide. Our Climate Education Initiatives unite grassroots activists, students, educators, and nonprofits in demanding and securing national-level commitments from governmental bodies for integrated climate education. EARTHDAY.ORG’s efforts are crucial for fostering sustainability and empowering environmental leaders worldwide.
