EARTHDAY.ORG ANNOUNCES SINGER AND SONGWRITER, AH MOON AS ITS AMBASSADOR IN MYANMAR

EARTHDAY.ORG, the global organizer of Earth Day, announces Ah Moon as its Ambassador in Myanmar.

EARTHDAY.ORG is an international environmental NGO that began with the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. The first Earth Day marked the beginning of an environmental movement that led to the passage of the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts and the establishment of the Environment Protection Agency in the United States of America.

Today, EARTHDAY.ORG engages with over 75,000 organizations in 190+ countries to widen awareness about environmental issues. April 22, 2020 marked the Golden Anniversary of Earth Day and EARTHDAY.ORG, that saw over 100 million people take part via digital space to commemorate it. An unprecedented number of world leaders raised their voices for the environment.

Speaking about her role as an EARTHDAY.ORG Ambassador, Ah Moon said, “I am very honored to be chosen as the official Earth Day Ambassador of Myanmar. I strongly believe that it’s all human beings’ duty to participate in the work of leaving a better world for our kids and next generations to come. In order to do that, we seriously need to nurture and protect the nature and our environment. Many places in the world are being destroyed and we need more healers than destroyers. I’m in! Are you?”

Kathleen Rogers, President, EARTHDAY.ORG said, “I would like to extend my warm gratitude to Ah Moon for her acceptance of the role as EARTHDAY.ORG Ambassador. Ms. Moon is such an acclaimed singer and so popular in Myanmar. She is also committed to work on enhancing environmental awareness and this will certainly help us spread green messages wider in the Myanmar and the region. I am confident that with her able support to our organization, we will work together to address global climate challenges.”

Karuna Singh, Regional Director Asia said, “On behalf of EARTHDAY.ORG, I would like to congratulate Ms. Moon for her new role and we look forward to working with her and address environmental challenges in the region. We will make concerted efforts to stymie climate change and also work towards our global theme for Earth Day, which is Restore Our Earth.”
