New Hampshire currently follows the Next Generation Science Standards as a framework for teaching climate change. In addition, they have attempted to introduce legislation to mandate climate education in public schools, though it died in committee. New Hampshire has implemented real initiatives to bolster climate education in the past and is continuing to try and introduce new ones as well.

The New Hampshire Sea grant launched the Climate in the Classroom Program in 2016 with the goal of providing educators with resources to help them introduce the issue of climate change in the classroom
New Hampshire House Resolution 30 stalled in the 2024 legislative session. This bill would have mandated climate education that goes beyond the NGSS, incorporating aspects of climate change into social studies instruction.
