Business Partnerships Director Job Description

Position Type: Full Time

Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000 depending on experience.

As an integral part of our development team, the Business Partnerships Director plays a critical role in securing and nurturing a portfolio of high-impact corporate partnerships. This role contributes to the financial vitality and overall growth strategy of EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO). The Business Partnerships Director will report directly to the Vice President of Development and will work from our Washington, D.C. office (currently hybrid, with two days a week in the office).

Qualifications and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Minimum of five years of proven experience in corporate fundraising.

· Demonstrable confidence in executing high-level sales pitches.

· High energy, focus-driven, and meticulous attention to detail.

· Adept in negotiating and managing relationships with corporate sponsors.

· Established network of connections within relevant industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Cultivate and manage partnerships with a wide range of programmatic sponsors and exhibitors.

· Lead or support executive staff in sponsorship meetings and oversee their scheduling.

· Maintain systems for account and sales tracking.

· Achieve and surpass annual, program-specific, and project-specific revenue targets.

· Support the VP of Development in devising business development strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

· Develop and refine pitch decks and proposals, utilizing insights from program staff about EDO’s various initiatives.

· Coordinate with program and project teams to ensure the delivery of agreed-upon sponsor benefits.

· Facilitate sponsor approval processes for all forms of marketing and communication materials.

· Compile and deliver reports for corporate sponsors.

· Collaborate with Communications staff to effectively communicate the value proposition for sponsors and donors.

· Monitor and analyze corporate development metrics.

· Maintain well-organized, up-to-date records.

Additional Skills and Preferences:

Familiarity with environmental, renewable energy, and green economy sectors is advantageous.

· Willingness to travel as required.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and social media marketing platforms.

· Other tasks within the purview of the team and role as assigned.

Location: This position will be based in Washington D.C. and work from our office in a hybrid model (currently in office two days a week).

Compensation: EDO provides a competitive benefits package. The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 – $115,000, depending on experience and location.
