Business Partnerships Director Job Description
Position Type: Full Time
Compensation: $94,000 – $109,000 depending on experience and location
The Business Partnerships Director is a key member of the development team. The individual in this role will be an experienced sales professional and will be responsible for developing and managing a high volume of corporate partnerships and contributing to the overall financial health and growth of EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO). She/he/they will collaborate with marketing and development teams as well as program staff to fund and carry out Earth Day’s work in the US and around the world, including key events, such as Earth Day itself. EDO’s Business Partnerships Director will report to the Vice President of Development and may work remotely or from our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid).
Qualifications and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Proven success with sponsorship sales and five years experience.
· Confidence in making high level pitches.
· High energy, mission and goal driven, and detail oriented.
· Ability to deal effectively with high-level corporate sponsors.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy team.
· Ability to expand client lists, track and follow leads.
· Manage sales to a large number of programmatic sponsors and exhibitors.
· Schedule and lead sponsorship meetings.
· Create systems to track accounts and sales.
· Meet and exceed annual and program and project sales goals.
· Assist VP with business development strategy to meet organizational goals.
· Develop pitch decks as necessary.
· Work with program staff to gather and present information on EDO programs and strategic initiatives that inform the preparation of pitch decks and proposals.
· Work with program and project staff to ensure execution on agreed upon deliverables.
· Traffic and manage sponsor approvals and sign-offs on materials and communications in all forms of media.
· Track deliverables and help create final reports for sponsors following events.
· Work with Communications staff to story-tell and communicate value for sponsors and donors.
· Track statistics relevant to corporate development.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
· Knowledge of environment, renewable energy and green economy issues preferred
· Willingness to travel
· Assist in the execution of Earth Day events.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and social marketing platforms
· Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role and team responsibilities.
Location: The position may be remote or work out of our Washington D.C. (hybrid).
Compensation: EDO offers compensation commensurate with skills and experience and will include a competitive benefits package. Salary for this position will be in the $94,000 – $109,000 commensurate with experience and considering locality.
