Ron Holloway, The Chad Hollister Band, and Special Guest Ledisi to Join Eclectic Musical Lineup at Earth Day Rally on the National Mall Esperanza Spalding to Present World Premiere of Her “Endangered Species” Music Video
WASHINGTON – Earth Day Network today announced more performers for the Mobilize the Earth™ rally on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Earth Day, including Ron Holloway, The Chad Hollister Band and seven-time Grammy nominated recording artist Ledisi. Grammy-winning jazz artist Esperanza Spalding will also present the world premiere of the music video for her song “Endangered Species” at the event. Fresh off her European headline tour, soulful R&B singer Ledisi will join the event as a special guest performer. Her 2011 album, “Pieces of Me,” which is the highest charting album of her career, debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was the number one R&B Album on iTunes upon release. “I’m happy to do my part in helping educate and promote green initiatives to make the world a better, healthier place,” said Ledisi. Renowned saxophonist and Washington, D.C., native Ron Holloway is a recipient of 45 Washington Area Music Awards and a staple of the ensemble for the Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes & Gov’t Mule, the Derek Trucks Band, Taj Mahal, and Little Feat, to name a few. Holloway will be performing with independent Vermont rockers and Billboard songwriting contest winner The Chad Hollister Band. Other performers announced today are California and D.C. rock outfit The Press and teen singer-songwriter Kate Diaz. These performers will join previously-announced Cheap Trick, Dave Mason, Kicking Daisies and The Explorers Club. Guest DJs will be announced on Earth Day Network’s Web site before the event. This First Amendment event on April 22 to galvanize the environmental movement will run from noon to 6:30 p.m. and will feature dozens of high-profile speakers and interactive exhibits.
