Earth Day 2026 Official Poster

Every year, one image gets to carry the weight of a movement. For 2026, that image belongs to Los Angeles artist Miles Wintner — a flower made of Earth, held in human hands. Tender, bold, and alive. He calls it the Earthflower: a reminder that flowers are not decoration, they are connection, linking birds, insects, and humans in the same quiet act of care.

The world is in all of our hands. It always has been.

Meet the Artist

Miles Wintner is an artist and musician born, raised, and residing in Los Angeles, CA. As a self-taught artist and designer, Wintner draws inspiration from natural phenomena such as light, sound, gravity, photosynthesis, wildlife, wind, precipitation, combustion, and celestial bodies, as well as from language, signage, advertisements, and the art made by fellow humans.

"In exploring how to illustrate Earth Day's 2026 theme Our Power, Our Planet™, I thought a lot about symbols of collective power. I wanted to convey this particular type of power as a bold and singular image that captures both the tenderness and strength of humanity's relationship with the planet.

Flowers are perfect examples of collective power, acting as essential ecological connectors that foster harmonious relationships between birds, insects, and humans, which in turn help pollinate the world's food crops. In other words, they make the world go 'round!

The scale of the Earthflower against the hand represents the strange, surreal wonder of human existence in a time where we have no choice but to be intently planet-minded."
