Gina McCarthy Confirmed as Administrator of EPA Statement of Earth Day Network

On behalf of Earth Day Network and our thousands of partner organizations around the world, we applaud the Senate’s decision to confirm Gina McCarthy as the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Gina McCarthy has been a staunch defender of the environment throughout her career and is a welcomed addition to President Obama’s team. President Obama has made it clear that we need to act now on climate change. Gina McCarthy is the perfect candidate to oversee the execution of the President’s Climate Action Plan and will play a pivotal role in reducing U.S. carbon emissions and advancing the green economy.
