Alaska has devised their own comprehensive framework for education on the topic of climate change in the form of the Alaska Natural Resource & Environmental Literacy Plan. Though there is obviously more work to be done, the state appears to be providing the youth with the tools they need to succeed in our changing world.

Climate Issues

  • Thawing permafrost
  • Melting glaciers
  • Warming of North Pacific Waters

The University Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Studies (UK-CARES) provides teachers with workshops and programs to allow them ti gain knowledge on environmental science and pass it along to their students
