The Canopy Project plants trees that help communities—especially the world’s impoverished communities—sustain themselves and their local economies.
Earth Day Network works on the ground with organizations that strengthen communities. Through sapling and seed distribution, urban forestry, agroforestry, tree care training, and accompanying community organizing, we have empowered rural and urban people alike to conserve, repair, and restore tree cover to their lands.
Trees reverse the impacts of land degradation and provide food, energy, and income. This helps communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Trees also filter the air and help stave off the effects of climate change. They are a natural, resilient, and long-lasting safety buffer to extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, and blizzards. And the longer the trees grow and stay in place, the more powerful these protections become.
Trees help communities help themselves by achieving long-term sustainability, preserving livelihoods, and strengthening cultures today for future generations.
You can help support Earth Day Network’s Canopy Project. Every dollar you donate is another tree in the ground. And another Act of Green.
