Good Jobs, Green Jobs Opens With WAGE

Earth Day Network is excited to announce that we will be featured in this afternoon’s Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference workshop on Women’s Leadership in the Green Economy. This workshop will highlight our Women and the Green Economy (WAGE™) Campaign. President Kathleen Rogers will be joined by United Solar Ovonic Vice President Martha Duggan (also a member of the WAGE™ Global Advisory Committee) and members of Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) and Gender Action, as they speak about the importance of women’s leadership, financing strategies, mentorship, and training in the U.S. and around the world. Together, we will discuss recommendations to create a transformative movement of women leaders working together to shape the green economy and the future of our planet.

From February 8-10 the 2011 Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference, presented by the Blue Green Alliance, is bringing together thousands of government, business and labor leaders will come together to share ideas and strategies for building a green economy that creates good jobs while supporting sustainability. If you are in Washington D.C. and attending the conference, be sure to join us today. And stay tuned for our updates and outcomes of the workshop!
