EARTHDAY.ORG & LOLLAPALOOZA INDIA 2025 UNITE TO SPOTLIGHT SUSTAINABILITY!
March 24, 2025

Mumbai, (March 24, 2025) – EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO), the global leader in Earth Day advocacy and the biggest environmental movement in the world, applauds Lollapalooza India, the world’s largest music festival, for both shining a bright light on sustainability and promoting our 2025 theme backing renewable energy, Our Power, Our Planet.
Lollapalooza India 2025 set a new benchmark for music festivals, seamlessly blending electrifying performances with environmental advocacy. With a staggering 140,000+ attendees over two days, the festival transformed into a dynamic platform for sustainability, with EARTHDAY.ORG engaging audiences through large-scale activations, immersive experiences, and high-impact digital messaging.
“It was amazing to see EARTHDAY.ORG making such a huge impact on such a giant stage,” says Tom Cosgrove, Chief Creative & Content Officer, EARTHDAY.ORG. “Lollapalooza India – we are grateful for your support and their work to amplify the importance of Earth Day and the need for all of us to care for the health of our planet.”
A key highlight was the Earth Day 2025 video broadcast across all four main stages, with giant screens playing the EDO message on a loop, amplifying our global call to action—Earth Action Day and prompting our 2025 Earth Day theme – Our Power, Our Planet. Urging the world to triple the generation of electricity through renewable energy generation, by 2030. Festival-goers engaged enthusiastically, embracing this vision of a greener future. There are more photographs and videos from the event here.
Beyond the music, Lollapalooza India 2025 demonstrated the power of entertainment to inspire change. The festival’s eco-conscious initiatives included:
- Earth Action Day Area – A dedicated space where attendees engaged with EDO’s sustainability mission through interactive exhibits, games, and giveaways made from recycled materials.
- Mass Audience Participation – Attendees actively supported EARTHDAY.ORG’s message, with live shout-outs, chants, and discussions on renewable energy and climate action.
- Global Platform Expansion – Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza’s visionary founder, announced his commitment to integrating EDO content and activation spaces across all future Lollapalooza festivals worldwide.
“Thank you, Perry Farrell, for your support to help widely disseminate our Earth Day 2025 theme, Our Power, Our Planet,” says Karuna Singh, Regional Director, Asia, EARTHDAY.ORG. “This urges everyone to take action in decreasing energy consumption and transitioning to renewable sources. Given the extensive reach of Lollapalooza, inspiring your fans to do so will greatly contribute to lowering the greenhouse gas emissions produced by fossil fuels, a primary driver of global warming.”
Adding an unforgettable moment to the festival, Perry Farrell, an American singer, songwriter, musician and the founder of Lollapalooza delivered an impromptu, soulful performance, harmonizing and creating a unique version of the Earth Day anthem
“Artists have the power of a microphone, and with that comes the responsibility to amplify what truly matters. Earth Day is wonderful. I think it should happen every day. Like brushing our teeth in the morning, we should wake up and check the air quality, then ask, Why is it up? Why is it down?” says Perry Farrell, “We get to see young people and children getting it right, and the greatest honor for me is to see it actually happen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am very proud to be part of Earth Day.”
Perry Farrell also conducted an exclusive interview for EARTHDAY.ORG, where he expressed his passion for environmental advocacy and reinforced his promise to feature Earth Day’s mission across all Lollapalooza chapters. This marks a monumental step toward embedding sustainability into global entertainment.
