Earthday.org Heads to Bonn for Climate Talk to Champion Global Climate Education Initiative

WASHINGTON, D.C. – [June 17, 2025]EARTHDAY.ORG, EDO, the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, announced today that it will participate in the upcoming United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Climate Talks in Bonn, Germany, to advocate for the integration of climate education into school curricula globally.

“Climate education isn’t just about teaching science—it’s about empowering the next generation to become climate business leaders, politicians and solution-makers,” said Kathleen Rogers, President, EARTHDAY.ORG.  “We’re sending our strongest delegation to  Bonn to ensure that every child, everywhere, has access to quality climate education. Education that prepares them for both the challenges and the opportunities ahead.”

The organization’s delegation will be made up of key EARTHDAY.ORG representatives:  Bryce Coon, Director of Education Initiatives, Max Falcone, Strategic Advisor and Johnny Dabrowski, EDO’s Youth Leader, who will collectively work together to engage with international negotiators, policymakers, and education leaders in a series of high level bi-lateral meetings and negotiations to promote climate education as a critical component of every nation’s national climate action plan.

“Climate education is the bedrock of a resilient society, building the critical thinking needed to fight disinformation and cultivate a workforce that creates the jobs of tomorrow.” said Max Falcone, Strategic Advisor, EDO. “This progress hinges on one action: collaborative financing for climate education across all sectors of society.”

During these climate talks, EARTHDAY.ORG will advocate for countries to include climate education commitments in their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and will present best practices and model language on how to do this..

“The climate crisis requires not just technological solutions, but also educational ones,” said Bryce Coon, Director Education Initiatives, EDO. “By investing in climate education today, we’re investing in the innovators, advocates, and leaders who will help us best deal with tomorrow’s climate challenges.”

EARTHDAY.ORG’s participation in the Bonn talks builds on the organization’s twenty plus years of ongoing global climate education initiatives and its work with schools, governments, and organizations worldwide to support the integration of environmental education into formal learning systems.

To consolidate and continue this work EARTHDAY.ORG is hosting a reception on Wednesday June 20th at 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Club Lounge, at the World Conference Centre, Bonn, Germany.

The reception will feature a high-level panel discussion with international climate negotiators, including Katarzyna Wrona (Director, Department of Clean Air and Climate Negotiations, Polish Government), representatives from Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) countries, representatives from the Holy See and Efrem Bycer, the Senior Lead Manager, Public Policy & Economic Graph, at LinkedIn.
