Benjamin Abel
Benjamin is a fourth year at Carnegie Mellon University double majoring in Global Studies and Environmental and Sustainability Studies. He is interested in environmental justice, water access, and clean energy, and he hopes to work towards those causes in his future career. This goal led him to his role as a communications and outreach intern at EARTHDAY.ORG for summer 2025.
Kimiya Attar
Kimiya Attar is a fourth year undergraduate student at University of California, Berkeley studying Conservation and Resource Studies with a concentration in Energy Systems, along with a minor in Public Policy. She is a Summer 2025 Research and Writing Intern at EARTHDAY.ORG.
Oliver Barlow
As a student of Anthropology and Literature, I have always been drawn to stories and storytelling. Although my academic background may not align precisely with the work of the organization, I have found a natural extension of this passion in EARTHDAY.ORG. The revelation that life in the Anthropocene commands us to is that human life is necessarily intertwined with the non-human. While certainly a concerning reality considering the degradation of the natural world, it too is a source of hope and inspiration. I have tried my best through my time here at EARTHDAY.ORG to highlight the stories, human and non-human alike, that demonstrate this intertwining of fates, and in doing so, hopefully have urged others to action. While environmental advocacy is a scientific endeavor, it is similarly a deeply emotional one. Without humanist efforts, such as those of EARTHDAY.ORG, environmentalism could not stand as a popular movement as it does today. It is for this reason that I gravitated toward EARTHDAY.ORG, and why I continue to feel satisfied by my work here.
Sarah Clements
Sarah Clements is a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill studying Political Science and Journalism, along with a minor in Public Policy. She is a Summer 2025 Writing and Advocacy Intern.

She is passionate about environmental justice, community regional development, and renewable energy. She is excited to amplify environmental awareness and inspire action as an intern at EARTHDAY.ORG.
Kira Donegan
Kira Donegan is a fourth year honors student at Syracuse University studying journalism with a concentration in magazine and geography.

Angela Lekan
I joined EARTHDAY.ORG to gain professional experience with an organization dedicated to furthering the cause of protecting our planet. As a writing and research intern, I am able to combine my passions for writing and science to help spread awareness of environmental topics that become more relevant each day. I am grateful to EARTHDAY.ORG for this opportunity to grow professionally in my writing, allowing me to more effectively communicate complex scientific topics in an accessible way. Knowing that I am making an impact and contributing to the global environmental movement has made my internship an incredibly valuable experience.
Sophie Liebel
I wanted to be an intern with EARTHDAY.ORG to contribute to their advocacy efforts and dive into topics that I am passionate about including plastics policy, environmental justice movements in Latin America and worldwide, and urban environmentalism. As a current graduate student in the Natural Resources and Sustainable Development program at American University and the University for Peace in Costa Rica, I hope to utilize my transcontinental knowledge of environmental challenges and civic activism to highlight global stories of hope and inspire action at the individual and societal level.
Isabella Miranda
EARTHDAY.ORG was a great fit for my academic and professional objectives, which is why I wanted to intern there. I’ve always had a strong interest in sustainability and environmental activism as an environmental resource management major with a minor in climate and society, and I knew that this chance would provide me with practical experience in this field. In order to work on practical solutions to pressing environmental problems, I’m interested in pursuing a career in environmental consulting. My internship at Earthday gave me the opportunity to learn from professionals, contribute to useful initiatives, and develop the abilities and information I’ll need for success in a future career. It was a worthwhile and motivating experience for me to be a member of an organization that is committed to environmental action.
Parker Nunn
I’m Parker Nunn from Panora, Iowa, and attending Davidson College in North Carolina. I am majoring in Political Science as well as minoring in Spanish Studies.
Katie Perschau
Katie Perschau is a third-year student at George Mason University studying Communications with a concentration in journalism.
Anneli Sample
I applied to intern with EDO because I’m passionate about environmentalism and the ways environmental justice intersects with other issues I care about as an international relations major. I was excited to make a tangible impact and connect with environmentalists from around the world, both inside and outside of EARTHDAY.ORG. Combining my passion for advocacy and writing has been so rewarding, I have learned how to write compelling emails to supporters, as well as interesting and informative articles that raise awareness for underrepresented issues. I especially like that interning at EDO is flexible and allows you to write about what you are passionate about, all while providing great feedback that helps you grow as a writer. After my time at EDO ends, I know that the skills I have learned this summer will continue to help me reach my goals and push myself further.
Tait Tavolacci
I applied to EARTHDAY.ORG because I wanted to gain writing experience in a professional setting and contribute to a meaningful cause. I love to write, and I am very passionate about using language to tell stories and communicate important messages, especially regarding the environment. This internship gives me the opportunity not only learn and grow as a writer, but also to spread awareness about environmental issues and inspire change.
Luc Thomas
Luc Thomas is a junior at American University studying International Relations and Political Science. He is currently a Summer 2025 Writing and Research Intern at EARTHDAY.ORG.
Parker Thompson
Combining my passion for environmental issues with my desire to grow as a writer, I saw the Writing Internship at EARTHDAY.ORG as the perfect opportunity to gain professional experience while contributing to a meaningful cause. I was particularly excited to write about various topics that I’m passionate about but haven’t necessarily had the opportunity to explore in an academic setting. It was also appealing to gain experience working for a nonprofit and to see how outreach and storytelling can drive lasting change. EARTHDAY.ORG offered an inspiring environment to contribute my skills and learn from an organization with a track record of mobilizing people worldwide.
