A study from the American Thoracic Society found that 168 people die every year due to air pollution in Connecticut, ranked as one of the worst states in the East Coast for air quality.
Connecticut is often called the tailpipe of America. This nickname originates from the fact that large amounts of emissions in New York metro area travel to Connecticut. This poses serious health threats to Connecticut citizens even though we did not produce these toxic gases. The federal government has done nothing to prevent this or make emission sources accountable. This is why we are asking you to support Connecticut’s continued efforts to sue the EPA for its lack of commitment to manage interstate smog.
