Action Alert: Urge the U.S. Senate to Oppose David Bernhardt's Nomination for Interior Secretary | Earth Day Network

The Senate is scheduled to hold a hearing on Thursday, March 28, to consider the nomination of David Bernhardt to be U.S. Secretary of the Interior. Tell your U.S. Senators to oppose Bernhardt’s nomination!

The U.S. Secretary of Interior plays a key role in overseeing and managing the nation’s lands, national parks, monuments, wildlife refuges, and habitats that protect endangered species. However, David Bernhardt is no friend of the environment and has shown he has no interest in protecting it.

Prior to joining the current Administration, David Bernhardt worked as a lawyer representing the interests of big oil and gas and has a record of siding against endangered species protection.

In his current role as acting Secretary of the Interior, Bernhardt has further pushed his anti-environmental agenda by suppressing the scientific findings that certain common pesticides are a threat to the existence of over 1,000 different species protected under U.S. federal law. If this is how he sees the job of Secretary of the Interior, we cannot allow him to be confirmed.

Contact your Senators today and urge them to oppose the confirmation of David Bernhardt, President Trump’s nominee to replace Ryan Zinke as the head of the Department of the Interior.

David Bernhardt must not become the next Interior Secretary.

Protect Earth’s interests, Protect Our Species! Vote NO on Bernhardt’s confirmation.
