Debapriya Dutt is Manager of Outreach, India, and focuses on issues that affect young people in India.
Before joining Earth Day Network, Debapriya worked for NGOs such as Vivekananda Kendra, Rising Sun, Padatik, Ashadeep, and the Nabadisha Project, creating workshops that focused on environmental education, and developing curricula for teachers. She also organized workshops for the general public on waste management, recycling, energy consumption, water conservation and more. Debapriya also taught at Akshar, an integrated school of mainstream children and special needs children, where she coordinated the Nature Club. Previously, Debapriya worked in the corporate sector, coordinating “contests for a better Kolkata” – sponsored by the Eastern Chamber of Commerce – and working with multinational companies to build awareness on the impact of pollution on human health.
Debapriya holds a bachelor’s degree in English and education from Jadavpur University and a master’s degree in English from Calcutta University. She also received the President of India’s Gold Medal for academic excellence and contribution to society.
