EARTH DAY NETWORK PRESIDENT & CEO ROGERS HONORED AS “LUMINARY”

WASHINGTON, DC– Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation & Womensphere has announced that Kathleen Rogers, President of Earth Day Network,will receive one of their 2011 Women’s History Month Luminary Awards on Monday, March 28, 2011 at a private event. Ms. Rogers will be honored as “an outstanding woman who has blazed trails, and whose life story and leadership provide a powerful inspiration to many women.”

 

“The Luminary Award honors women who are unleashing potential, inspiring impact, and transforming the world,” said Analisa Balares, CEO of Womensphere, “and Kathleen Rogers is the epitome of this because she has been motivating and mobilizing people and organizations globally to build a green economy. Through Earth Day Network’s year-round work on major public policy and advocacy campaigns as well as global coordination of Earth Day, she has transformed ‘eco-friendly’ from a slogan into a substantive worldwide movement.”
