Pole Pole Foundation
The POLE POLE FOUNDATION “POPOF”is a non-governmental organization, based in Miti, the Democratic Republican of the Congo DRC, which created by natives and workers around the Kahuzi-Biega National Park. 'Pole Pole' is a Kiswahili word meaning 'slowly'. It's our wish to go rather slowly and steadily than hastily toward the achievement of our ultimate goals: “Act for the long-term conservation of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park KBNP and the sustainable development of the local communities”.
POPOF works hard in the field to:
- Provide the people with the job training and increase the employment.
- Initiate the environmental education program to raise awareness among the people about the importance of the natural resources of the park.
Despite all difficulties faced DRC since 1996, the POPOF has been contributed in implementing many remarkable projects included afforestation and environmental education programs
