Pallishree
Pallishree’s works in Asia’s largest lagoon, Chilka. Its core areas of work are environment protection, natural resource management, integrated farming and good governance. Pallishree’s activities include wetland management, climate education, promotion of green crops, integrated watershed management, organic farming, capacity building and training.
For Earth Day, Pallishree will bring together local stakeholders from the watershed community in the Chilika lake basin to build awareness about climate change. Students from the local eco-clubs will participate in an essay competition on climate change with prizes to be distributed on Earth Day.
These activities will take place in and around the lagoon area. Posters will be distributed in the western catchment of Chilika Lake, covering approximately 1000 sq km.
