Ministry of Education in Sultanate of Oman
The Ministry of Education in Sultanate of Oman (MOE) throughout the last three decades of the history has been running against the clock for the purpose of achieving great expectations and high ambitions.
MOE 's educational process has undoubtedly achieved what makes proud of this rich extent of the march of knowledge in its tremendous achievement. The sunrise of the 23rd of July 1970 is the real starting point of the overall development in each field. And here they are harvesting the fruit of forty years of a battle at all levels to catch up with the developed countries and the dear country Oman takes its suitable position among nations and countries.
For Earth Day 2011, MOE lead remarkable initiative in motivating schools throughout the Sultanate to go green in honor of Earth Day as part of its support to the environmental movement worldwide. In a bid to have the ICT well-penetrated in the daily working educational environment, and to enhance the education quality with high operating performance that lead to achieve remarkable and outstanding outcomes, the Ministry of Education has recently embarked many modern technological projects.
The executed efforts experienced in the ICT filed are dedicated to drive the ministry for better e-Maturity in terms of having e-service oriented architecture that properly integrates information, business, security and technical working groups with high performing standards. This is to say having the target well-acquainted with latest technological products introduced in the education sector gaining therefore the fruits. Transforming large society with massive generating information needs to be daily communicated in effective and efficient way is really not an easy task. Therefore, ministry of education has lately designed a strategic planning as a road map for implementing the ICT in education in which schools use technology in teaching and learning; students graduate with solid skills, knowledge and experience to compete globally.
This master strategy ensures the right direction for e-Maturity and covers the main area such as infrastructure, technical support, staff development, security, e-learning and schools of excellence.
These thoughtful actions have driven MOE to be the best improved governmental organization electronically in Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGoverment 2010.
