The Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS)

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society, (KEPS) was founded in March 1974 by virtue of a ministerial decree which was issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour – Kuwait.

KEPS works on environmental matters, and focuses its efforts on protection of the environment of Kuwait.

KEPS Objectives:
- Protection of the environment, control of sources of pollution in all domains, unifying and coordinating the efforts of persons active in environmental matters.
- Working to create an environmental and scientific method of public thinking in order to establish the necessary legislation for the protection of the environment against pollution.
-Protection of the natural resources of the country.
- Seeking to achieve active participation of the public in raising awareness of environmental pollution, soil pollution and the need to preserve the natural resources of the country by mutual cooperation with the relevant authorities.
-KEPS organises an annual cultural environmental event, giving a series of public lectures on environmental issues with speakers coming from both Kuwait and abroad and
-KEPS hosts a variety of conferences and seminars throughout the year with the aim of exchanging environmental information amongst the scientific agencies, in controlling all types of pollution.
