EarthFair at Grand Central Terminal:
EarthFair City of the Future Exhibit
Inside the spectacular Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal, Earth Day New York is presenting a multi-day exhibit from Monday 4/19 through Saturday 4/24 from 10AM to 7PM focusing on the City of the Future, green technology, sustainable fashion and other major displays. In addition, the Giant Earth Images will illuminate the historic landmark’s walls with inspiring environmentally themed quotes, messages, photographs and graphic images contributed by artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, and Rafal Olbinski, among others. The show, projected onto two columns in Vanderbilt Hall, will run 10 hours a day.
EarthFair Outdoors
On Vanderbilt Avenue, outside on the Westside of the terminal on Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, Earth Day New York will be presenting a two-day festival of art, music and the environment. A large exhibit area highlighting green businesses, organic food and environmental groups will include interactive displays that not only educate, but provide an opportunity to take positive action for our environment. EarthFair also features live musical entertainment including numerous well-known performers and regional bands from 12-2pm and 5-7pm on Friday and 12-5pm on Saturday. THE E CAMPAIGN:
April 22nd, 2010 marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and the challenges we face appear overwhelming. It seems an opportune time to promote a new symbol of hope and commitment. The E campaign is designed to give Earth Day a fresh face, draw new people into the environmental movement and inspire everyone to take positive action for the planet every day in a variety of ways.
The E campaign creates the opportunity for individuals like you to speak out about what you are doing to take positive action for the Earth and will highlight choices made by all kinds of people to live greener, cleaner, and more sustainable lifestyles.
The goals of the E campaign are to encourage environmental actions and create a lasting legacy: a tangible sense of community and hope, a shared vision of a more sustainable future and a clear understanding that we are not alone. It is time to rekindle the idea that we are all part of a powerful movement that can really make a difference. Be the E.
