Center for Development Orientation & Training (CDOT)
C-DOT is a developmental organization with a mission to empower the less-privileged. It was formed in 2000 by a group of like-minded professionals who had worked in the fields of rural development, academia, finance and developmental works. Micro-finance is one of their specialities. They also work for the reduction of use of chemical fertilizers. They are currently working with 25,000 women in some 550 villages in Bihar.
They have two programs planned for Earth Day: first, to spread “green” messages among women who live in on the outskirts of the capital, Patna; and second, to hold a seminar in which heads of several prominent banks will discuss ways to help those at the grassroot level get loans to move to cleaner fuels. http://www.cdotbihar.org/
