Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM)
Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, the country’s oldest science museum under the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government of India has interactive, numerous three-dimensional ‘exhibits’ on wide ranging science themes. There are galleries on Mathematics, Fascinating Physics, Metals, Popular Science, Life Science, Transport, Underground Mock-up Coal Mine, Television etc. The visitors also can participate in a host of exciting ‘science shows’, including a 3D Show. These are designed to foster curiosity and interest in science in the public in general and students in particular.
For Earth Day BITM in collaboration with EDN & South Asian Forum for Environment has put together a two-day commemoration that includes quizzes, poster competitions, musicals, film-shows, a visit by school-children to the close-by wetlands regions, popular science lectures by eminent scientists, etc.
