Andhra Pradesh Environment Connect (APEC)

Andhra Pradesh Environment Connect (APEC) is a network of like-minded individuals, formed on 22ndApril 2008. More than 1500 individuals work in the areas of Water and Energy conservation, Tree plantation, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle campaigns for paper, plastic and e-waste.

APEC collaborates with corporate bodies such as Coca Cola, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft and HSBC and as well as works close collaboration with WWF and state pollution control Boards.

The Earth Day event will be held at the Andhra Pradesh Forest Academy, Dulapally, Hyderabad. Several events will generate awareness of the need to save water and energy and of the benefits of increasing forest cover. The events will be held over 3 days. The events planned include essay and painting competitions for students of classes 10 & 11, the planting of 100 trees at the AP Forest Academy Campus by APEC members, a switch over to LED lights on Earth Day, at the AP Forest Academy and a green rally by APEC members to Dulapally village to educate the villagers on the importance of water and energy savings. APEC members will also conduct a drive to collect paper, plastic and e-waste for recycling.
