Richmond Hill K9 Klub Pitch in at the Park

Friday April 22 is Earth Day- Help us Celebrate it !!

Once again, it's time to help out our community and our environment by 'Pitching In" for the Town's Operation Clean Sweep.  The K9 Klub, with the help of volunteers and members has been instrumental in cleaning up the valleylands around our off-leash area at Tower Hill.  Last year, volunteers were able to make a huge impact on the site by ridding it of bags and bags of garbage and debris that had blown in from nearby neighbourhoods.  We even removed an old rusted car, piece by piece, from the area near the new Saigeon Trail.  This is part of our role as community partners and Park Stewards.

With the help of STARBUCKS (Yonge and Tower Hill), who have generously offered to supply coffee for the event and have provided raffle prizes, it should promise to be a wonderful event.  This is a great opportunity for park-users and their families to actively participate in community-building and environmental stewardship at a grass-roots level.  If your children require STUDENT VOLUNTEER HOURS they can use this opportunity to sign off on a couple.  It will also be a great chance to get caught up on everything over the past couple of weeks with the council decision and our future home at Phyllis Rawlinson Park.  We will also be receiving a fresh load of mulch for the park itself which will help to keep the park a safe and clean experience for all who use it.  If you use the park, you should feel an obligation to do your part to continue to keep it and the lands around it safe and clean for everyone, including yourself.  It's an important lesson for us all and one we should take the time to teach our children.

PLEASE, COME OUT AND JOIN US.   We need the help and we can't do it alone.  If you have a shovel to help with the mulch, feel free to bring it.  Otherwise, come and PITCH IN for our community.  Join us at the entrance to the Tower Hill Off Leash Area on:

Friday, April 22  from 1:00 - 3:00 pm

See you at the park!!
