WAGE™ Campaign Featured at Good Jobs, Green Jobs National Conference
From February 8-10 in Washington, D.C., thousands of government, business and labor leaders will come together to share ideas and strategies for building a green economy that creates good jobs while supporting sustainability. Presented by the Blue Green Alliance, the 2011 Good Jobs, Green Jobs National Conference will emphasize initiatives towards green transportation, youth education, water, agriculture and recycling industries, as well as improvements in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
As part of the conference, Earth Day Network will co-host a panel discussion workshop on Women’s Leadership in the Green Economy with the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO). Our President Kathleen Rogers will join United Solar Ovonic Vice President Martha Duggan (pictured above) and others in this panel to examine gender-responsive financing; discuss the importance of women’s leadership, mentorship, and training; and specific initiatives such as Earth Day Network’s Women and the Green Economy (WAGE™) Campaign. Workshop participants will share their ideas and experiences and help draft recommendations for continued work to build alliances between women around the world; foster networking across all sectors; and create a transformative movement of women leaders working together to shape the green economy and the future of our planet.
Online registration for the Good Jobs, Green Jobs National Conference ends tomorrow, Friday, February 4, so sign up now! After you’ve registered, be sure to contact us to RSVP for the Women’s Leadership in the Green Economy workshop.
