The Winds of Change

The progress in the development of sources of alternative energy under the Obama Administration could best be summed up in the excerpt below.

From Time Magazine:

"Before President Obama took office, the U.S. had 25 gigawatts of wind power, and the government’s “base case” energy forecast expected 40 GW by 2030. Well, it’s not quite 2030 yet, but we’ve already got 50 GW of wind. We’ve also got about 5 GW of solar, which isn’t much but is over six times as much as we had before Obama. Mitt Romney has suggested that wind and solar are “imaginary” sources of energy. But they can now power 15 million homes, and their industries employ more than 300,000 Americans. That’s real."

This success is all the more reason to not only keep, but extend tax credits in this sector. We do the nation a huge disservice if we were to roll back these tax credits and remain chained to subsidizing fossil fuels.

1.4 million euro – but it saves approximately 20% in energy consumption each year. I asked how long it would take to cover the initial costs, and his response really pleased me. He said it will take about 20 years to amortize the cost of this equipment, but the investment was not just for financial savings, it was more for the environmental future. Besides reducing energy consumption, the new system improved the cooling for the machinery itself and now uses 50% less water.

It’s still amazes me that the girls have different tastes when it comes to the clothes they wear. They are alike in so many things except for their clothes. Sarah goes for the more sophisticated and sexier styles while Sandra prefers the simple and conservative styles. So on the night of their prom, I can already picture my girls; one will be showing some skin while the other one will be very well wrapped; two same beautiful faces in different styles.
