ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION RESOURCES

Environmental Education and Earth Day

Before social media and the internet, organizers of the first Earth Day in 1970 brought together 20 million people to learn about the environmental problems we faced and act to address them. This was possible because of the incredible passion and motivation of students and educators taking a stand for a cleaner planet for their future.

Environmental education empowers students around the world to solve the climate crisis and develop the skills, optimism and resolve to lead the environmental movement of tomorrow.

At EARTHDAY.ORG™, we increase awareness and build environmental and climate literacy in students around the world. EARTHDAY.ORG’s education program engages hundreds of thousands of teachers, students and partners to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders.
