On Earth Day 2016, 175 countries came together and signed the historic Paris Climate Agreement. That agreement is our best chance to cut carbon emissions and save tens of thousands of species, including our own, from the dire consequences of climate change.
Now the Climate Agreement is under attack from ruthless climate deniers who intend to undermine the credibility of the United States and promote the dirty wasteful burning of fossil fuels for as long as they can.
World leaders need to know that the people of the United States and around the world support them as they continue the work that we started on Earth Day to reduce emissions and to build a robust and equitable green economy.
The Climate Agreement, signed on Earth Day, was a turning point for humanity. Today, I am adding my support as a citizen signer because we must continue the work that we started to limit global temperature rise and to avoid the most dangerous consequences of the climate crises.
