Renewable energy in America is booming right now, thanks in large part to the Renewable Energy PTC. By 2015, America will produce enough renewable energy to power 17 million homes and replace 58 coal-fired power plants.

Update: COP19 in Warsaw

For the past week and a half, delegates from over 180 countries have come together in Warsaw, Poland for the UNFCCC 19th Conference of the Parties (COP19) to discuss the future of international climate change policy. These talks are incredibly important, as they will determine the future of global climate policy. The meetings are used to hash out technical details and specific language that will become the framework for international climate policy.

COP19 is Officially Underway

The 19th Conference of the Parties (COP19) kicked off yesterday in Warsaw, Poland. If the recent IPCC report on climate change is any indication, there is much work to be done. As the report indicated, it is possible to avoid the worst climate impacts, but only if “substantial and sustained” action starts now. COP 19 seeks to catalyze this process.
