Iraq faces serious environmental problems, running the gamut from biodiversity to waste management. That’s hardly surprising. Events from 1980 to the present day have created challenges precluding Iraq from becoming a hotbed of environmentalism. Today, we feature one partner organization working hard to reverse that trend.

On May 3, 2011, Earth Day Network in partnership with the Carbon War Room and ACORE (American Council on Renewable Energy), will present the Climate Leadership Gala at the EPA Atrium of the Ronald Regan Building in Washington DC. The Gala will be the pinnacle of Creating Climate Wealth, a two-day Summit taking place on May 3 and May 4.
