Climate Change Roundtable to Set International Example

Since 1970, Earth Day has been a seminal event, bringing environmentalists, community leaders, elected officials and ordinary citizens together to discuss ways to improve the world around us. This year, the Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day event is bringing renowned musicians, such as  No Doubt, Usher, and My Morning Jacket, along with NGOs and finance ministers, together on the National Mall in Washington D.C. to push local and national leaders to commit to powering the world from renewable energy sources.

Perhaps more importantly, Connect4Climate and Earth Day Network are hosting a roundtable discussion with local and national leaders and influencers backstage to bring forth new climate communication ideas and strategies to trigger action, especially among Millennials. . This Earth Day, we need more than rhetoric, our leaders must commit to real strategies to solve the climate change crisis.

We can’t afford to wait any longer. We must call upon elected officials, artists, business leaders, and young people everywhere to commit to real action in our communities. If you’re hosting an Earth Day event, join us and host a roundtable conversation with civic leaders in your community. Gain inspiration for your roundtable and listen to our livestream of C4C’s Communicating Climate Change 2.0 (April 15th from 2-5PM EDT), where academics and leaders in the environmental world will share their research and stories from the field. Use our Green Cities program as a springboard for action in your area or set up a Climate Communication Forum at your University.

Let’s start the conversation, together.

It’s Our Turn to Lead.
