Thanks for Taking Action!

During the past few weeks, over a billion people in 192 countries took action for Earth Day. They organized rallies, demonstrations, clean ups, tree plantings, educational events, festivals and more to protect the planet.

In Albania, Earth Day organizers rallied for greener cities. In India, they demonstrated for more renewable energy and less coal. In Columbus, Ohio, thousands of people volunteered at 150 clean-up sites throughout the city.

The theme of Earth Day 2014 was Green Cities. On Earth Day and throughout the year, cities are working to become more sustainable through improvements to their energy, transportation, and building infrastructure. To see our complete list of Green Cities success stories, click here.

Earth Day 2014 has come and gone, but our work is not done yet. Here are some ideas about how you can get involved throughout the year.

A Billion Acts of Green is an ongoing campaign that inspires and aggregates individual acts of environmental service—like composting, eliminating vampire energy, or eating local. We reached our goal of one billion actions, and we’re now shooting for two billion. Pledge your Act of Green here.

Also, check out our Green Schools campaign. We provide educational materials to help build awareness about environmental issues. Help us green a school in your community!

Through the Canopy Project, Earth Day Network plants millions of trees around the world in the places that need them most. Learn how you can contribute here.

The individual actions of people like you are critical in advancing the environmental movement. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Earth Day 2015 is right around the corner. We look forward to seeing all the work we can get done in the meantime.

Thanks for taking action!
